Main responsibilities
- Full operational responsibility for the department
- Full budget responsibility for the department
- Implement and develop key measurables to identify and drive business improvements within the department deploy and maintain "Zero Scrap" philosophy within the department
- Lead the development and implementation of significant improvements in department wide processes, procedures, and systems
- Develop a continuous improvement philosophy with goals and timelines
- Responsible for the launch of new products and change management within the department
- Implement standard operating procedures across all areas of responsibility
- Manage staff at all levels in an efficient and flexible manner
- Ensure staff are adequately trained and qualified
- Mentor staff in an approachable and constructive manner
- Maintain and develop the emphasis on ownership and accountability throughout the department
- Maintain and develop the delivery of finished products in line with cost, quality and production schedule requirements
- Provide leadership and direction
- Health and safety awareness will be amongst your main priorities, and health and safety guidelines should be actively promoted
- Communicate, liaise, and negotiate internally and externally using appropriate methods to facilitate the development of profitable business and sustainable relationships
Requirement
Qualifications:
Master's Degree preferable in Engineering
Fluent in English

Experience:
- At least 3 years of Paint experience in an automotive manufacturing environment. OEM/Supplier
- Minimum of 5 years manufacturing experience
- Supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting
- Experience leading and coordinating multiple projects with internal plant personnel, outside contractors and vendors
- Experience in preparing documentation, presenting and gaining consensus and approval of projects and cost justification proposals
- Ability to work independently to develop solutions for complex problems based on facts, experience and judgment
- Experience in managing people

Preferred:
- Experience in project management and budget control for capital projects
- Knowledge of various coating applications with an emphasis on the automotive processes
- Understanding of Paint process quality measurement methods (X-rite, Wavescan, dry film thickness etc) Including Colour evaluation methods
- Knowledge of Industry product test approval requirements
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing techniques
- Understanding and awareness of Health & Safety / environmental legislation impacts, conversant with compliance standards
- Experience in developing manufacturing procedures, process flow, and process controls
