Job Description The DBA team is looking to add to their current talent a self-motivated, highly experienced MySQL Database Administrator. The DBA team is responsible for tasks such as project management, development of best practices and repeatable procedures for deploying databases, day-to-day operational activities including break/fix, capacity management, backup and recovery, database High Availability Clusters, replication setup/management and ongoing database change reviews. The team also builds and maintains large-scale and very high transactional MySQL databases on Linux platform. You will be intensely involved in you will define the problem, propose and refine the solution. You will also play an important role in the development, configuration and deployment of the overall solution. You will guide teams on project processes, deliverables and contribute to the proposal development, client training and internal capability-building and help detail the project scope. Required MYSQL Database Administrator with 4 years of experience with expertise as per below responsibilities and requirements.Manage MYSQL databases through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems.Good understanding of the Oracle database architecture (Single Instance, RAC and ASM), related utilities and tools on Oracle 12c or later.Defining database standards and procedures to cover the instance parameters, object sizing, storage. The procedures define the process for install/upgrade, corporate database requirements, security, backup/recovery and automate the same.Experience in Security features like TDE, oracle redaction.A good understanding of the underlying operating system (Linux) and knowledge of network and storage.A good knowledge of the physical database design and Partition Tables.Ability to perform both Oracle and operating system performance tuning and monitoring.Knowledge of ALL Oracle backup and recovery scenarios.A DBA should have sound communication skills with management, development teams and systems administrators.A good knowledge and hands on experience of Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c or later.Use tools for database tuning. Generate traces, execution plans, identify performance issues, deadlocks/contention and resolve them.Developing production database/storage(ASM) migration procedures.Coordinating upgrades of system software products to resolve any Oracle/operating system issues/conflicts.Provide off hours support and maintenance as required, part of the 24x7 operations support on call rotations.Experience in applying PSU patch on RAC setupManaging large scale MySQL databasesSolid understanding of MySQL internal architecture, demonstrated experience with MySQL database design, implementation, performance tuning, and capacity planningProvision MySQL instances, both in clustered and non-clustered configurationsExperience with Enterprise backup and recovery strategies Experience with Monitoring Tools for MySQL DatabaseExperience in database software management (patch and version management) Good scripting ability and good working knowledge of Shell Scripts, Perl or PythonHandle common database procedures, such as upgrade, backup, recovery, migration, etc Profile server resource usage, optimize and tweak as necessaryPrepare documentations and specificationsCollaborate with other team members and stakeholders PreferredStrong proficiency in MySQL database managementDecent experience with recent versions of MySQLHands on experience with designing and implementing database High Availability Clusters and replication strategies 5 years plus working with MySQL technology.
